thanks for the interest, left-handed as it may be. For the record I'm in full agreement with single payer as the best model--but it's useless to argue for it right now with any sense of realism, not when there are things of value that can actually be won. But I'm definitely NOT a mainstream party guy, that much should be obvious. I've been a registered Democrat for about a month, to vote for Steve Novick--no mainstreamer he--and then switched back to WFP. And as you point out, I've got no love for the stroking of the party at BlueO.

As for the City of Portland's issues, I do it without shame because I believe in it. Theoretically Amanda Fritz is "one of my bosses," and I was an early supporter of hers--but I don't agree with her on the stadium project at all. And I've been adamant that the repeated attempts to revive sit/lie are a sad and ultimately illegal waste of time. I support a smaller CRC, the suspension (although not killing) of Convention Hotel talks, was ambivalent about Lents and wouldn't have supported what Paulson asked of Beaverton--but Randy Leonard drove a much better bargain almost without City risk. I think the way Council has allowed Chasse to fester has been very disturbing. But yeah, I think Adams deserves to stay and continue to earn back respect, I think Randy is refreshing and generally honest if a bit unpredictable, and I thought Erik Sten was the shit, still do. It has nothing to do with being employed by CoP, honestly.
